I made this simple torch cooler from some 1/4" pneumatic line though ice maker water line would be just fine. With this set up the torch handle has not exceeded 80 degrees. The handle, collets and tungsten is cool to touch almost immediately after welding. I did do some testing. Without the cooling system hooked up, I was getting a torch handle temperature in the 134-140 degree range after burning 1 rod. The same settings with the water cooling recorded a 78 degree temperature. Also the temperature of all components were cool to touch almost immediately. I could change the tungsten bare handed almost as fast as I could get my gloves off!
